Last year’s inaugural Pilsner Super 8 final between Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club and Onduparaka Football Club will be repeated today but this time as a semifinal tie.
Winners of the maiden edition KCCA FC host Onduparaka at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo. The ‘garbage collectors’ Head Coach, Mike Mutebi is confident that his side will continue with its dominance against the West Nile side.
During a press conference held at Kati Kati yesterday, Mutebi said it’s a ‘must win’ game for his charges.
“This is not a kind of disrespect to Onduparaka but we have to always show our class,” Mutebi said.
Onduparaka assistant coach Sadiq Sempigi is aware of KCCA’s threat but he believes his side is ready to create a new chapter.
“We respect but do not fear KCCA. We are ready to battle them. We do not want to repeat our past mistakes. It is not everyday business that they will win against us at Lugogo. We know the strength and weak points for KCCA. Good enough, we are aware of the strategy that they use. We are gearing at an improved performance,” Sempigi remarked.
The winner of this tie will play Vipers SC who booked their spot in the final after overcoming Mbarara City in a penalty shootout last week.
