Form is temporary, Class is permanent. Arapapa CEO Santa Anzo proved the saying when she made a comeback ten years after she last hosted the fashion week. Hosted by Santa Anzo in proud association with the Department of Arts and Culture and The Republic of South Africa, the long anticipated grand finale of the Uganda International Fashion week was precise and an international standard show.
With international fashion producer Jan Malan directing the show, one would think the show was in Milan or Paris yet it was in Kampala. The designers who included top Ugandan designers Santa Anzo of Arapapa, Abbas Kaijuka of Kia Diva Collections, Stella Atal, Paula Butagira and South Africa’s Alvada collections, Judith Artelier and Mmuso Maxwell showcased interesting and exciting collections .
While addressing the guests, Santa Anzo who was overwhelmed with the love she received at the show promised to host another fashion show next year.
“Fashion is not what you have seen tonight, this is the strategy of the industry, fashion like agriculture and transport, like communication and tourism, like banking and finance, ladies and gentlemen fashion like petroleum and gas is a multi-million industry waiting to be tapped and Uganda the time is now,” said Santa.
The CEO Uganda Tourism Board Lilly Ajarova applauded Santa Anzo for putting up a great show and reminded the guests about the beauty Uganda holds.
“Uganda is a special place, we want to share the beauty of this pearl with all people,” Said Ajarova.
As they took a bow they played Rickyman’s Ebbango for indeed Santa raised the bar.
