Uganda has been selected as the host country of the first World Health Regional Summit next year. The two-day summit will take place in April from 27 to 28, 2020 at Makerere University.
This was revealed by Prof Charles Ibingira, the Principle of the College of Health Sciences at Makerere University while on a visit at the Ugandan Embassy in Berlin.
Ibingira is also currently serving as the 2020 President of the World Health Summit.
The summit will bring together over 2,000 health professionals, stakeholders in government departments and the private sector to share knowledge and ideas on drafting and implementing better health policies for the benefit of people.
“The health problems affecting us are universal, because they affect people in the developed countries as well. No nation can make steady economic progress when its people are dying and battling poor health,” Ibingira said.
