Speaking at the luncheon held at his home in Kibuli after the Eid prayers, the Titular Head of Muslims in Uganda Prince Kassim Nakibinge questioned police’s priorities when implementing their mandated duties.
Nakibinge says police has left majority of Ugandans insecure by concentrating on ‘petty’ cases. He advised police to concentrate on combating crime rather than banning musical shows.
“Thieves took command of Nansana in Hollywood style, robbed people and disappeared in thin air. I am only asking that the energy you (police) use in blocking concerts should be diverted in cracking down criminal suspects. Uganda will be a better place to live in,” Nakibinge said.
The prince also noted that the entire Muslim fraternity is working tirelessly to harmonize their differences.
“We have agreed that, let have our differences put aside and promote peace and unity among us. Our detractors are taking advantages of all these misunderstanding and causing mayhem,” he said before adding that the past fights have yielded nothing.
