Veronica Luggya aka Vinka must now be a proud ‘dummy’ as news reaching our desk indicates that the ‘sure’ singer has penned down a deal to record music with United States of America based record label Sony Music Entertainment.
Vinka signed to Sony’s Africa affiliate Sony Music Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Swangz Avenue confirmed the news on their official social media platform.
“Congratulations Vinka upon your exclusive recording contract with Sony. We are so proud of you and what we have achieved so far in just 2 years,” reads part of the post
“We are very excited to have Sony joining hands with us to propel your brand to new heights. This new partnership is evidence that you haven’t put a foot wrong since you started and we are committed to even do more with this new development,” it adds
Vinka alongside her boss Julius Kyazze travelled to Johannesburg a few days ago and its good news that their travel has borne fruits.
Sony Music Entertainment is said to be the second largest of the “Big Three” record companies in the world behind Universal Music Group and ahead of Warner Music Group. Famous globe artistes have been through the record label and these include; Foo Fighters, One Direction and Pharrell Williams.
Vinka is now the third Ugandan artiste to be signed under the US record label. Keko and Naava Grey were once under the same label.
