Speaking at the Inter-Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) summit yesterday evening, President Yoweri Museveni applauded himself for being the best youth leader Uganda has ever had. Museveni said he started working for Uganda when he was a young boy, about 19 years old.
“When I hear young people, young people. I’m a former young person, a former youth. I can authoritatively speak about youth issues because I was once a youth leader. And I did everything through the right procedures,” Museveni said.
“So, don’t waste time saying you’re opposition yet you’re doing nothing for your people,” he added urging opposition leaders and youths to always work for the progress of their areas.
While speaking about Forum for Democratic Change boycotting the summit, Museveni explained saying; “You can’t be in leadership and say, “I don’t want to talk.”
“Once we discuss issues, we can agree on a point of convergence and therefore move forward together,” he added on.
