Mrs. Teddy Bugingo, the wife of House of Prayer honcho pr. Aloysius Bugingo, has said that her estranged husband’s claims that she and her children are trying to steal church property are false, reckoning that no one can still anything from pr. Bugingo because everything is registered in his names.
Speaking to the media yesterday evening, Pr. Bugingo’s wife narrated how the ‘assets’ of House of Prayer Ministries came to be registered entirely in pr. Aloysius Bugingo’s name.
“Right from the start when we were beginning the ministry, we registered the church ministry in his names, and every asset that we acquired for the ministry we also registered in his names, the land and the media house and everything else,” Mrs. Teddy Bugingo revealed. “Back then I asked him why he was registering everything in his names, especially when we acquired the land on which sits the church in Makerere-Kikoni, and he told me the people had trusted him to be the sole name registered as owner on all church properties, and I didn’t ask any further about that.”
“So for him to say we were trying to steal the land and other church assets is a very false claim.”
Mrs. Bugingo went on to reveal her perspective of how her estranged husband runs his ministry, saying Pr. Bugingo runs the church, the media house and everything associated as his personal business where he is the sole proprietor who doesn’t answer to anyone about anything.
“He recently added Pr. Mutaawe and his personal secretary Babirye to the ministry papers as directors, but still they don’t have much actual power. He has all the power, especially in regard to decisions and assets,” Mrs. Bugingo explained.
We are stil trying to get Pr. Bugingo’s view of these claims, as well as the other ones that his wife and daughter have made before.
