On Saturday, singer Irene Ntale left revelers in awe after she threw a spellbinding performance at the Johnnie Walker Unplugged show that took place at Design Hub over the weekend.
The “Stamina Daddy” hit-maker who stepped on stage at 8pm had dedicated the night to the ladies in the house in celebration of Women’s day and she instantly connected with her audience through songs such as ‘Stamina Daddy’, ‘Gyobeera’, ‘Love Letter’ and ‘Olindaba’ among others.
“It’s Women’s Day so we thought there wasn’t a better way to celebrate women and their impact on society than through an exceptional artiste like Irene Ntale who is an icon of progress for many young women,” said Elijah Kitaka, CEO Fezah.
Organised by Fezah and sponsored by Johnnie Walker, Unplugged is a monthly musical showcase set in a studio-like setting that gives fans an intimate and up-close experience of their favourite Ugandan musicians performing to live instruments.
The crowd’s favourite though was ‘Sembeera’ that left revelers screaming as they sang along, word for word, on top of their voices.
“Johnnie Walker is all about progress and it’s in that spirit that we elected to support and celebrate incredible artistes who are making a mark in the entertainment industry which is what someone like Irene is doing,” said Roger Agamba, International Premium Spirits Brand Manager at UBL.
