Goodlyfe former manager Chagga has blamed the deceased Mowzey Radio’s singing partner, Weasel (Douglas Mayanja) for the illegal selling and releasing of Radio’s Music which the deceased singer left unpublished. Speaking on a Local TV interview yesterday evening, Chagga (Geoffrey Kyagambiddwa) said Radio used to store on his mobile phone all his unreleased songs that he was working , so when he died the ‘unknown’ person who took possession of the phone also took possession of those songs.
Chagga was responding to a question whether he is really involved in the illegal sale and release of Radio’s music that was unpublished at the time of the singer’s death last year.
“I won’t mention the name of the person behind it all, but know that the person releasing the songs is the one who took possession of Radio’s mobile phone when the ‘soldier’ died. I won’t mention that erson, but I can tell you that Radio’s phone is actually still on and you will get to talk to that person if you listen closely,” Chagga said.
“Weasel actually knows who has that phone. And if he can’t say who, then it is Weasel himself releasing the music,” Chagga further said, before challenging the interviewer to try dialing Radio’s Phone number.
The veteran music promoter/artistes’ manager also said that for the sake of his friendship and respect for the fallen legendary, he would never leak Radio’s songs. Chagga said the format and way in which the songs are released is so unprofessional and meant to send the artiste’s legacy to dust, and he would never be art of such a scheme..
“The songs are released on Whatsapp and Facebook, which is disrespectful to the legacy of Radio,” Chagga said.
At the beginning of this year (a few weeks ago), the police summoned Chagga and weasel in regards to the illegal release of Radio’s songs. Chagga afterwards divulged that it was Radio’s family that had let to them being summoned, after it was concerned about the late’s music and also wanted a share of Mowzey’s cake.
