Parliament to declare Quiin Abenakyo a National Hero

The  recently crowned Miss World Africa, Quiin Abenakyo  might soon be declared a national hero for her outstanding contribution to promoting tourism in Uganda and rising its name to an International Arena.

Gulu municipality MP, Hon. Lyandro Komakech proposed a motion to declare the Busoga game changer as a national hero.

Yesterday, Quiin Abenakyo and her parents attended the parliamentary plenary from the gallery and Speaker Kadaga promised a substantive motion today.

The Ngora district women MP, Hon. Jackline Amongin moved a procedural request on the floor for the house to pay tribute to the queen of beauty on the continent.

The August house  appreciated the 22 year old beauty Queen for selling Uganda to the world with her beauty and intelligence.

The members of parliament applauded the fresh graduate for representing Uganda in the just concluded 68th Miss World beauty contest.

Parliament also urged the Ministry responsible for Tourism and Foreign Affairs to support the Miss Uganda beauty pageants in an effort to promote Uganda as a tourist destination.  Parliamentarians also urged government to support programmes aimed at promoting the girl child education.
