The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has ordered clan leaders to revive the norm of registering all its members starting from as low as a family unit.

Speaking at a meeting with clan leaders at Bulange Mengo, Kabaka said as they are on a mission to transform Buganda into a much better society, it is good to know all the people in Buganda for better planning.

He said the registration should be done with a lot of care not to violate the cultural norms and he urged them to employ modern technologies.

“When carrying out the registration, you should take extra care to ensure this is done in accordance with our norms and customs,” Kabaka said.

The Kabaka also stretched that the registration will also help members desist from intra-clan marriages because it will help members to know each other.

He also told the clan leaders to utilize all prominent personalities in their respective clans citing that such individuals can play a big role in transforming the Kingdom.

Kabaka urged the leaders to concurrently organize meetings to brainstorm income generating programmes that will benefit the kingdom.
