Court dismisses Ssebuliba’s case where he demanded to be made ‘admin’ of businessman Kiwanuka’s property

A few weeks ago, we reported about the contentious court case where 40-year-old Jordan Ssebuliba dragged his adopted father city businessman Mohan Kiwanuka to court demanding a mental test to be done on him (Kiwanuka).

Ssebuliba further demanded that he is made the administrator of Kiwanuka’s property on gounds that the businessman is no longer mentally fit to keep running the several businesses he owns in different parts of the country.

Matooke Republic has learnt that High Court Judge Musa Ssekaana has dismissed the case saying that Kiwanuka has no mental illness whatsoever that should prompt a medical checkup.

In his ruling, Ssekaana said that he called Kiwanuka and his lawyers and interrogated him with the aim of ascertaining his mental status. Ssekaana said that they had a meaningful conversation and concluded that Kiwanuka is totally fine upstairs.

“Just because someone briefly forgets something doesn’t mean they are mentally sick and that they cannot manage their wealth so they should give it to you to manage,” Ssekaana told Ssebuliba.

Ssekaana added that sending Kiwanuka for a mental checkup will be an infringement on his rights because his mental state does not call for that.

Ssebuliba disagreed with Ssekaana’s ruling and was advised to appeal within 14 days after this ruling.
