Suspects narrate how they murdered Nagirinya and her driver Kitayimwa

Sunday last week and Monday this week were busy days for Uganda Police officers as they were busy solving the puzzles in the murder of Maria Nagirinya and her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa.

By Monday afternoon, Police had already arrested six suspects alleged to have committed the crime that took the lives of Nagirinya and Kitayimbwa. These were arrested from a building inn Nateete just behind the Police station.

One prime suspect identified as Kasolo also known as Arsenal, Hussain or Kopian in his peers narrated how they planned and executed the murder on August 28, 2019.

Kasolo confirmed that he is the person that drove the Nagirinya’s car after kidnapping her. Kasolo said that they hit Kitayimbwa with a car jerk on his head immediately after taking him off the steering wheel. They put his corpse in the boot and drove off to a place called Kitooro behind the police station in Nateete.

This is where they changed cars and put Kitayimbwa’s corpse and Nagirinya, who was still alive at that time, in a Prado that had other collaborators. Kasolo then drove Nagirinya’s car to Kireka but didn’t divulge details of what he did there, but drove back to Nateete where he dropped the car.

The occupants of the Prado that had Nagirinya and her driver’s body drove to Nama in Mukono. They tortured her while demanding for her mobile money PIN and killed her afterwards. The dumped the two bodies in a trench and covered them with grass. They made away with Shs170000 and two phones that they found in Nagirinya’s car.

In the process of killing Nagirinya and disposing off the bodies, Kasolo said that blood spilled on their clothes and one of them dropped the his blood stained jacket in Nama, while others dropped their clothes in Namanve.

Kasolo said that they withdrew Shs500000 from Nagirinya’s phone in Nateete and that is where Police, ISO and CMI started their investigations from until they were arrested.

Police detectives have spent the last few days reconstructing the crime scene visiting all the places Kasolo mentioned in his narration.

Kasolo also said that they were hired by someone to carry out the mission, and paid them Shs1.5 million. Everyone that is connected to this murder, including a one Nakubulwa who runs the mobile money point where they withdrew Nagirinya’s money from is still in Police detention as Police continue their investigations.
