StarTimes donates computers to Mukono schools

Over the weekend   TECNO Mobile Uganda in partnership with StarTimes, Bell Lager, MTN and NYK Promotions hosted the second episode of the colourful  event dubbed ‘TECNO Heroes in Color Run’ at Lugogo.  Color Fun Run is a Corporate SocialResponsibility (CSR) event that happens annually with the aim of raising awareness on social issues and endeavouring to make a difference in people’s lives.

This year, the theme was “Digitalize the Future” and the proceeds from the event went to buying computers, printers and other technological equipment for secondary schools in Mukono District.

 “We were more than happy to partner with Tecno Mobile Uganda on this edition. As the leading digital Pay TV Company in Africa,we believe in supporting our communities. Mukono has some of the best-performing schools in the country. StarTimes donated computers which will help the students to be more tech-savvy and digitally knowledgeable because they are the future. Computer literacy is crucial in this day and age,” The StarTimes PR Manager, Cleopatra Koheirwe said:

The event was officially opened  by Hajji Ismail Mulindwa, the Director Basic and SecondarySchools—Ministry of Education & Sports. After which, those taking part in the 5km minimarathon proceeded to run.

The fun filled event comprised kept the revellers looking forward to the next  event,From the color that was being splashed on everyone, to bouncing castles, inflatable bubbleballs, face painting, music and performances by Grenade of “Nkuloga” fame, DJ Shiru, SpiceDiana, Nina Roz, Carol Kasiita, and Weasel who made the crowd nostalgically sing along tothe crowd nostalgically sing along to his hit songs with fallen star Mowzey Radio (RIP), it was indeed a remarkable event .
