DPP loses interest in minister Nataba’s alleged murder case

Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mike Chibita has decided to discontinue proceedings in a case where the State Minister for Information Communication and Technology, Idah Nantaba and three police officers were charged with murder of a one Ronald Ssebulime.

In a Withdrawal Form letter dated September 9, 2019, the DPP has written to court informing it about his loss of interest in the case.

“This is to inform court that the Director of Public Prosecution has decided to discontinue proceedings against Nantaba Idah Erios, Police Constable Opira Ronald, Police Constable Baganza Ronald and Police Constable Cherotich Edward,” reads the letter. 

This news comes when minister Nantaba is currently in Canada for reasons not clearly known. The three officers are on remand in Luzira Prison.

Ssebulime was shot dead this year in March for allegedly trailing Idah Nantaba. He was a welder and renowned biker at Bulaga on Mityana Road.
