Looking for a place to spend your weekend? We have five events for you to choose from

This weekend is jam-packed for events. But who are we kidding? Every weekend in Uganda is jam-packed with events and revellers always find a hard time choosing where to go and spend their hard-earned shillings. Matooke Republic has selected a few events we feel will give you value for your money.

Uganda Premier League match-day one continues

The Uganda Premier League kicked off on Thursday with Kyetume getting an unfamiliar win over Sports Club Villa. Matches continue today with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC hosting league debutants Wakiso Giants at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo kicking off at 3PM.

Other matches are; Mbarara City VS Proline FC in Kavumba Stadium, Wakiso and Tororo United VS Busoga United (former Kirinya Jinja SS).

Kyeza Fest in Jinja

Kyeza Fest will be hosted today at Nile Nest in Jinja. The organisers have no relationship with Nyege Nyege organisers but this two-day festival surely acts as a curtain-raiser for the Four-day International Music Festival that kicks off on Thursday next week.

Kyeza Fest will have fun activities like quad biking, drinking games, karaoke, Zumba dance, naked mile, ladies’ football, among others. You will need to part with Shs80000 to be allowed entry into the two-day event.

Gabz at 2 at Gabz Lounge

Gabz Lounge in Bugolobi will today celebrate the big achievement that is making two years as a top night club in Kampala. The lit place has multitudes thronging it to have fun, shake what their mamas gave them and spend some during theme nights, particularly the famous “Old School Thursdays.” This celebration is proudly powered by Tusker Malt so be sure to have them at discounted prices.

East African Meat Carnival at The Gardens

Step aside you veggies. This is an event for only meat lovers. This event is known to gather carnivores all over East Africa in a nicely set up place called The Gardens in Najjera. Chicken, beef, mutton, and pork accompanied with light foods like steamed cassava and posho are the delicacies served on the day with a Tusker Lite served on the side at discounted prices.

The night has music selected and mixed by Kampala’s top DJs till late in the night so it is a day and night of food, music and drinks served by appetizing waitresses that if you are not careful, will make you drink away your transport back home.
