The Ugandan music industry has grown over the years with new artistes, producers and writers coming out every other day. This has fostered improvement and increased competition so it is hard for a song to top the charts for a long time.

Matooke Republic has compiled the top five bangers that have dominated the airwaves this week.

Kirira by Pallaso

It has been a while since we’ve had and heard a Pallaso song do well on the charts. Kirira is proving to be a club favourite, its hard-hitting bass and lyrics being able to move the crowd on the dance floor

Omusheshe by Ray G and Spice Diana

It is safe to say that this is Ray G’s breakout hit on Uganda’s mainstream music scene. He combined with the already established Spice Diana to deliver a combination of Runyankore and Luganda, and has become a hit in both regions where the languages are spoken.

Onkutude by Sheebah

After releasing a few meh songs during the Cindy feud, Sheebah finally came through with something worth listening and dancing to.
