I cannot be arrested by this government – Pastor Bugingo speaks out

Yesterday morning reports spread that Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of the House of Prayer Ministries had been arrested and whisked away in a police van before he could preside over Sunday service at his Makerere Kikoni based church.

However, it later turned out that the controversial pastor was under no detention as he came and led the service at his church. Bugingo took the platform to assure his followers that he can never be arrested especially when Museveni’s government is in power.

“I cannot be arrested by this government because they are the reason why this church exists despite the many cases they reported against us,” Bugingo said.

He said that the news of his arrest found him at his home preparing to go to church.

“I got phone calls from ministers, Members of Parliament and top security officials asking about my arrest. I am not a criminal to be arrested,” he said.

“Teddy said these words so many times. It doesn’t offend her,” Bugingo said before issuing fresh apologies to his family and the entire women fraternity at large.

A section of women activists is today expected to walk from Bat Valley Theater to the office of the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga to express their displeasure with Bugingo’s recent remarks.
