President Museveni to speak at the African Blockchain Conference in Kampala

State House has confirmed that the President of the Republic of Uganda will grace the upcoming Africa Blockchain Conference in Kampala, Uganda. The two day Conference will run from July 3 to July 4 under the theme “Africa 4.0: Preparing Africa for the 4th Industrial Revolution”.

The President delivered a keynote address at the inaugural conference last year where he said that Blockchain will be essential in supporting the economic sectors of agriculture, ICT, services, manufacturing and processing industry. He went on to say that Africa is ready for the digital age.

Linda Nabusayi, the Statehouse Press Secretary also confirmed in a statement that Sierra Leone President H.E. Julius Maada Bio will also attend the Conference, and the two presidents will hold a talk to the press before the main event.

This year’s Blockchain Conference will focus on among other things artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things, drones and big data.

3,000 delegates from the public and private sector, experts from global technology companies, innovators, students, entrepreneurs and youth are expected to attend.

Apart from the two Presidents Yoweri Museveni and Julius Maada Bio, other notable speakers include Head of Operations CryptoSavannah Solomon Rugunda, Chairman Bin Zayed Group Sheikh Khaled Al Nehayan, Chairman Private Sector Foundation Uganda Patrick Bitature, among others.

The Conference is organized by CryptoSavannah, Blockchain Association of Uganda and the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.
