Young people make my life more fun and I am not about to stop partying- Former Vice President Bukenya

Former Vice President, Prof Gilbert Bukenya is not willing to put his aging body to rest. Bukenya who was speaking in an exclusive interview with BBS Television at his home in Kakiri recently said those criticizing his partying lifestyle must expect more of the same as he is not about to retire.

“I have all the freedom to enjoy my private life the way I want,” smiling Bukenya who is just two months shy of his 70th birthday said.  

“Being old or a professor cannot force me to party in the bush or in the house. I am not about to stop partying,” he added.    

The self-proclaimed mahogany says his continued association with young people brings freshness in his life.

“Who told you that when you’re old you have to move with only the old? Young people make my life more fun,” Bukenya stated before sighting that even his former boss President Museveni is employing youths because they can offer him fresh ideas.

Known for his relationship controversies, Prof Gilbert Bukenya was last month dragged to court by his wife Dr Margaret Mary Musoke. Margaret filed for divorce in High Court at Makindye where she accused the former Vice President of abandoning his marital obligations, deserting their matrimonial home and also engaging in several incidents of adultery and infidelity. 

Bukenya also filed his defence admitting to having other sexual relationships but asked court not to award any of his property to Margaret because she contributed nothing to their development.
