Bobi Wine granted bail after making history as first Ugandan to be tried by court via videoconferencing app

Kaydondo East Mp Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, aka Bobi Wine, has this afternoon been granted bail in the case where he is charged with leading a protest against social media tax last year.

Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Esther Nahirya granted the singing parliamentarian and People Power chief bail upon the request of the MP’s legal team (comprising such lawyers as…), thereby rejecting State Prosecution’s requests that the MP not be granted bail.
