The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze has blamed police for making opposition figures like Bobi Wine seen as heroes by handing them heavy-handedly.

“These issues of opposition and police bore me. I am reluctant to blame the Police for doing its work. I am sure the opposition benefits politically from the scuffles they have with the Police,” Tumwebaze said this morning while appearing on NBS TV.

Tumwebaze went ahead to say that even if Bobi Wine or Besigye became president, the Police would behave the same way.

“For People who cannot tolerate judges for ruling against them, their regimes will be worse,” he said.

On why police is blocking Bobi Wine’s concerts, the minister said police is doing it for the safety of the legislator. He said Kyagulanyi must co-operate with the Law and order-keeping body.

“What I know is that a political contender wants to ride on the innocent music lovers and party goers. From the crowd you’ve invited, there could be people who want to harm you (Kyagulanyi) and then you blame it on the government,” he said.
