Police makes U-turn and cancels Bobi Wine’s Easter Monday Kyarenga Extra concert, three days after the same Police had cleared the concert to take place at One Love Beach Busabala

After writing to Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi SSentamu (aka Bobi Wine) three days ago indicating that they had given him a greenlight to go ahead with his Kyarenga Extra Concert (that was scheduled for Easter Monday at the singing parliamentarian’s One Love Busabala); Police have today afternoon delivered to the M/musician a new letter indicating that the permission to go ahead with his concert has been withdrawn. That therefore the singer/MP can’t and shouldn’t go ahead with preparations for the concert, neither should he try to hold it.

Matooke Republic has learnt that the letter cancelling his Easter Monday Kyarenga Extra concert was delivered to Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi today afternoon, at about 1pm.

In the letter signed by AIGP Asuman Mugenyi on behalf of IGP Okoth Ochola, Bobi Wine is informed that much as he had been granted permission to hold his show on the condition that he fulfills the conditions which had been spelt out to him, Police on second thought considered the history of his past concerts where Law and order wasn’t maintained and several requirements for pubic safety given by the force weren’t meant, and ultimately decided to withdraw the clearance they had given the singer to hold his Kyarenga Extra concert tomorrow (Easter Monday).

The letter says Bobi Wine won’t be allowed to hold concerts at One Love Beach until he has put in place measures to ensure public safety, observation of Law and order, among other things.

Here is the full letter from Police, informing BoBi Wine that he won’t be allowed to hold his Kyarenga Extra concert at One Love Beach Busabala tomorrow:
