Minister Nakiwala gives Fresh Kid Sh5 million to record his new song Bambi, promises to pay his school fees up to P.7 and apologizes to his management

Minister of State for Youth and Child Affairs Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi has this morning met with trending child musician and rapper Fresh Kid (Patrick Ssenyonjo) at her office in Kampala.

And word from our sources who were privy to the meeting indicates that the meeting has been very fruitful for the young musician/rapper.

We understand that the minister called the young rapper and his team to meet her and iron out issues of how he can stay in school while continuing to develop his music career, and a consensus was reached in the meeting.

Aparently, after Fresh Kid’s team agreed with the minister to keep the young boy in school during the day so that he does music after school hours and on a limited basis, the minister also apologized to the team for having hastily judged the child rapper and his team when last week she decreed that Fresh Kid stop performing professionally or he would go to jail.

And reportedly after that, the minister offered the 7-year-old rapper Sh5 million in cash to go towards the recording of his latest song Bambi (in which she pleads to the minister to let him do music to survive). The minister also reportedly pledged to pay Fresh Kid’s school fees until he has completed Primary Seven (P.7).
