‘Delegate’ Bebe Cool currently in Kigali representing Uganda

It seems like Uganda’s ‘Three senior musicians’ are all getting deeper and deeper into serious stuff as they grow older. While Bobi Wine is the one who over the last couple years been more aggressive on this front, becoming Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and  indicating that he is aiming for the presidency, Bebe Cool is also steadily moving the path.

Bebe Cool was last year in September named Uganda’s Tuberculosis Ambassador (by Uganda Stop TB Partnership and their Geneva Partners UN Office for Project Services –UNOPS), and the singer is already doing serious work on this front.

Presently Bebe Cool is in Kigali, Rwanda, representing Uganda as the United Nations Ambassador for Tuberculosis. Today morning, he was amongst the panelists for the ongoing African Regional TB Summit, together with the Executive Director Stop TB Partnership Ms.Lucica Ditiu, Ms.Marijke Wijnroks of Global Fund, Brain Flo an artist and Zambia’s TB Ambassador.

The summit is aimed at sharing practical solutions on how Uganda and the rest of other African countries can ‘Find Missing People with TB’.

In Bebe Cool’s presentation, he encouraged all persons to go for TB testing. The Gagamel boss also raised “the need for African celebrities to embrace the cause and create more awareness and engagement about TB, just like it was the case with HIV- AIDS.”

“I believe these are executable ideas and the fact that the rate of TB infections has surpassed that of HIV-AIDS we need to act now,” Bebe Cool moved.

Last year in September, Bebe Cool was appointed by Uganda Stop TB Partnership and their Geneva Partners UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) as Uganda’s Tuberculosis Ambassador and he was immediately sent to attend a high-level meeting at the UN Head Quarters in New York.
