Kenya’s musician turned politician, Charles Njagua Kanyi popularly known as Jaguar is in Uganda to grace Alex Muhangi’s weekly Comedy Store.
The ‘kigeugeu’ hit maker will be performing alongside songstress Naava Grey. The show has a lineup of comedians like Amooti Omubalanguzi, Mc Kapale, Mc Mariachi, Godi De comedian and Crazy University.
This will be the first time he will be performing in Uganda since he became an MP. From a humble background, Jaguar grew up in the suburbs of Nairobi and rose through the ranks to become Kenya’s richest musician.
He rose to fame when he worked with Kenya’s music powerhouse, Ogoopa Deejays. He worked as a vendor in Nairobi’s Matatu and together with the help from friends, he managed to complete school.
On August 9, 2017, Jaguar was elected to serve the constituency of Starehe in Nairobi on the ruling party ticket.
According to Jaguar his main reason for joining politics was to effect change in the society especially the youth and women.
Like his brother (in the music industry) Bobi Wine, Jaguar also represents the common man in Kenya.
