Eddy Kenzo furious over proposed regulations for artistes, wants musicians to boycott them

BET award-winning artiste, Eddy Kenzo has responded to the proposed regulations the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development mooted for the entertainment industry.

Among the “unrealistic laws” is one that limits an to a single performance a day.

According to Kenzo, the music industry has two categories of ; the upcoming ones that are still figuring their way out and senior that have been in existence for a long time and the rules will suffocate young talent and kill creativity.

Kenzo has convened a meeting of on today (Friday) at Jahazi Pier, to lead a massive boycott against the regulations arguing that before the policy was drafted, the line ministry should have reached out to them [] and two parties discussed.

“We are artistes that are on a national and international level. We are the ones who made the industry they want to regulate. There is no way you can do something without talking to us first. We are supposed to seat on a round table and we discuss the matter,” Kenzo said.

The Sitya Loss singer went on to say that the regulations are bitter and full of hatred and the Ministry has no power to fight with God because it is only God who gifts people with creativity.
