Miss Uganda Quinn Abenakyo is an edge closer to the Miss World crown. The 22-year-old beauty made it to the top 30 contestants; a feat a Ugandan beauty queen has achieved for the first time!
The 120 contestants were presented a ‘Head to Head challenge’, with a shortlist of 20 candidates taking the stage with 90 seconds to present to a panel of judges what they would do in their home countries as beauty queens.
Abenakyo swept the judges off their feet with an eloquent presentation about teenage pregnancies and early motherhood in Uganda. Abenakyo beat Miss Argentina to make it to the top 30 contestants which leaves her as a strong competitor for the much-coveted crown.
The three judges; Miss World 2017 title holder Manushi Chhillar (India), and former Miss Worlds Meghan Young (Philippines, 2013) and Stephanie Del Valle (Puerto Rico, 2016), unanimously voted in her favour.
Way to go!
