Minister for Kampala, Beti Kamya has warned vendors against returning to the streets of the city.
While addressing the press after KCCA ED, Jennifer Musisis announced her resignation, Kamya stated that hawkers and vendors will not be allowed on the streets.
She emphasized that no one will be allowed to operate in the city outside the law. In her address, she also called Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to be calm and desist from causing tension at City Hall.
Kamya explained that KCCA is governed by law and not an individual, allaying fears of job insecurity at City Hall.
Kamya was responding to claims made by Erias Lukwago that Jennifer recruited several staff unlawfully who are only answerable to her.
Musisi wrote a notice of resignation to the president effective 15th December 2018.
