From our ‘top stars’ begging for collaborations to the comparison to the ‘Visit Rwanda’ campaign, Kanye West’s visit to Uganda has brought in that excitement to a previously politically charged atmosphere! Oh, what a sigh of relief!
Away from the excitement, in the corridors of power, meetings are being held to strike trade deals. Yes, with the stature of the American rapper and the social capital that comes with his name, ‘sharp’ players in Uganda’s tourism sector might soon be calling the shots.
According to Heritage Holiday Safaris, a Ugandan tourism company that took Kanye West on a brief tour around Murchison Falls National Park, Kanye West is keen to promote destination Uganda as a way to ‘give back to the motherland’.
“He is enjoying the magical experience in Uganda. And wants to show how beautiful Uganda is. Wants to do more for Uganda. A meeting was later scheduled for Saturday evening at Chobe to discuss business,” they revealed.
Kanye West is at Chobe Safari Lodge where he is recording his eighth studio album.
