Following a gripping kick-off over the weekend, the 2018/19 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season continues today with match day two fixtures at various venues. KCCA FC will again be at home against Kirinya Jinja SS in a game that will be live on TV.
KCCA won their opening fixture 2-1 against stubborn Tooro United FC, thanks to Allan Okello’s long range belter and Patrick Kaddu’s second half header. Jinja SS are looking for first season win after drawing 2-2 against SC Villa in the opening game.
Defending champions Vipers SC are away in Luzira against wounded Maroons who were tamed by Bright Stars 2-0 on opening day. Vipers edged newly promoted Ndejje University 1-0 in front of their massive crowds that flocked the refurbished St Mary’s Stadium.
“We are ready. This is another big game for us, we want to go pick the three points and the boys have to fight, every day, every week & every game,” said Javier Martinez Espinoza ahead of today’s game.
After surviving last season’s turmoil, revamped Express FC is kicking off its season today after postponement of its opening fixture against Mbarara City. Express play URA at Wankulukuku. The tax collectors defeated new comers Paidha Black Angels 2-0 in the opening game.
Lastly BUL FC that won 2-1 against Police host yearning Tororo United in Jinja.
