Incase you have been wondering why President Yoweri Museveni’s 163 advisors have always been ridiculed, presidential advisor on media and public relations; John Nagenda has hinted that their job is not an easy one.
“My job is to try and advise the president, he’s not easily advised, if you know him, he thinks he knows everything so you have to be quite cunning to put your point across but we get on very well,” Nagenda disclosed.
Nagenda dug further on why Museveni is resistant on effecting a power transition saying; “35 years in leadership is a very long time, what people should do is stand their ground with all due respect. He actually adores firm people but unfortunately, he hardly meets them, but he can be a handful.”
On Museveni’s abusive and funny replies to the media and public, Nagenda said the president also likes always being in the lime light.
“The president wants to shock people(media) into paying attention and one of the ways he does it is to be slightly abusive and I pity those who can’t take it, it’s just Banta. But deep down he can crack jokes and his style is to be vigorous.”
