With City Oilers now leading the best of five series of Tusker Lite’s Semifinal playoffs by 2-1 against KIU Titans, the basketball fraternity can demand no more than enjoying the intensity of the full tie.
On Tuesday at the MTN Indoor Arena, Lugogo, game three of the best of five series between last year’s finalists, Oilers and KIU was played amidst massive chants from the crowd. The hotly contested fixture went tight until the final whistle with both sides showing sparks of brilliance.
At the blow of the long break whistle that commands them to the locker rooms, Titans were only down by three points (36-39).
The third and fourth quarter did not disappoint as both sides put up good performances but at the end of the night, only one team had to emerge winner of the tie and tournament defending champions Oilers took it with 71-67.
They now lead the series and only need to win the Friday game to advance to their sixth consecutive league final.
