Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is likely to be slapped with fresh charges, Director of Criminal Investigations AIGP Grace Akullo has hinted.

According to Bugiri Municipality MP Asuman Basalirwa, who also doubles as one of Bobi Wine’s lawyer’s,  Akullo said that the police wanted Bobi Wine over fresh charges thus were prompted to block him from travelling abroad for further treatment.

“She (Akullo) said that there is a new case file against him but did not tell us what the new charges are,” Basalirwa said.

However, police spokesman Emilian Kayima said that Bobi Wine’s departure was halted because the police wanted to have him examined at Mulago hospital to confirm his claims of having been tortured.

“Given the fact that he is on bail, the police is concerned and await for guidance from the relevant government department,” Kayima stated.
