Law makers in Equatorial Guinea can only travel abroad after getting permission from the First Son, Teodorin Nguema Obiang, who doubles as the Vice-president of the country.
In a letter dated July 27, the MPs are required to submit a travel request to the Senate or National Assembly who act on approval of the Vice president on travels.
According to the sources, the move was made in ‘national interest ‘ after a failed coup was staged in January.
The source alleged that high ranking government officials and law makers travelled abroad to broker the power change that was nipped.
