Earlier this month, Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze returned from India, where she had gone for treatment for her injuries sustained in the Age Limit fracas that happened in Parliament.
Despite her unstable health condition, the bedridden legislator has today been dragged to Nakawa Court to face charges of inciting violence that, police says, led to the gunning down of slain Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga and his brother.
While addressing journalists, one of Nambooze’s lawyers Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago revealed that given the conditions of his client, he requested police to revise and renew the bond.
However, the police gave them bad news that the file of her case has already been sanctioned to court, hence the case hearing has to go on.
Lukwago further states that they are yet to receive the official charge sheet.
