Bobi Wine was sent on remand at Gulu Prison until August 30 earlier today by Gulu Magistrate Court. While his detention is sad news to millions, Eddy Kenzo has vowed to take his newly found music activism to another step.
According to Kenzo, the Kyadondo East MP changed his life.
“This great man changed my life. I can’t see him cry and I remain the same, NO NO NO No!!! I’m gonna record more songs because that’s the only weapon I have,” he posted on his social media platforms.
This announcement follows the release of ‘Biwoobe’ a song in which Kenzo turns his mic against brutality by security operatives.
A frail looking Bobi Wine supported to walk on either sides, made his first public appearance at Gulu Court Martial since his arrest a week ago. The Court martial chaired by Gen Gutti dropped the charges and set him free but minutes later he was re-arrested by police and taken to the Gulu Chief Magistrate. He was charged with treason and remanded.
Eddy Kenzo’s relationship with the singer-cum-politician spans over a decade. Kenzo broke mainstream in the 2011 hit duet ‘Yanimba‘ featuring Bobi Wine’s brother, Mikie Wine. He was also on Bobi Wine’s side during the 2012 ‘Battle of Champions’ concert, in which Bobi Wine was pitted against nemesis Bebe Cool.
