The row between State Minister for Lands Minister Percis Namuganza and the Justice Catherine Bamugemereire – led lands probe has hit new heights.

The minister had snubbed numerous summons by commision and recently took to the media labelling the probe “corrupt” and waste of taxpayers money adding that it is being used by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga to discredit her.

After finally appearing before the commision last week to answer questions on how she introduced two new land buyers of certain contested land in Mubende district, Namuganza renewed her beef with the probe.

She in her defense said the complainants asked President Museveni for government to buy the land so that they can “settle peacefully.”

“Why would you call the minister whom the President moved with and assigned him to follow-up the matter, asking me why I took people to the President without informing you as if I am the one who told the people of Mubende to petition the president? The way they [Land Commission] have been conducting themselves is as if they subdued the ministry and it no longer exists,” she said.
