Vice Chairperson of the Committee of Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises Anita Among has dismissed the recent changes FDC made to the leadership of accountability committees.
The Bukedea Woman MP, who is also an Independent, vows to stay put in the committee chair until December when her term of two and a half years expire as per the rules.
“Parliament is not run by Najjanakumbi (FDC headquarters). We have rules of procedure and the head of parliament is the speaker who is the custodian. According to rule 146 standing committees are supposed to serve for two and half years”, she stated.
She started that FDC president disregarded rules of procedure.
“As a leader one should not act in annoyance and I don’t know where the annoyance is coming from. The institution of parliament must be respected”.
She was replaced by Moses Kasibante while Munyagwa Mubarak was appointed head of the committee replacing Abdul Katuntu.
