That’s right! CNN has named Uganda’s Kidepo Valley National Park among Africa’s eight top safari destinations.
Kidepo considered Uganda’s most isolated national park is home to over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species.
According to CNN, the park located in Karamoja could be the most beautiful in all of Africa.
“With the sweeping plains of Kidepo and Narus Valleys overshadowed by the brooding mountainscape of Mount Morungole (the sacred peak of the mysterious Ik people,) this park has huge appeal just for the scenery alone,” CNN wrote.
The article further reads that, “the park’s isolation is off-putting for many, but the 12-hour road trip from Kampala, Uganda’s capital, (or a fairly expensive private charter flight) is a small price to pay to discover one of Africa’s genuine hidden gems.”
Kidepo Valley National Park was ranked alongside Serengeti National Park of Tanzania, Zimbabwe’s Hangwe National Park, Samburu National Reserve in Kenya, the Kalahari Desert, Zambian duo South Luangwa National Park and Kafue National Park and Etosha National Park in Namibia.
