Jailed ex-police chief General Kale Kayihura, has through his lawyers – Kampala Associated Advocated reached out to President Museveni – with allegations that the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) is concocting evidence and conniving with witnesses to incriminate him.
Kayihura’s plea follows ISO’s arraignment of suspects last week that Col Kaka Bagyenda, the outfit’s director general said were the masterminds of the panga attacks in greater Masaka – some of who said they worked closely with Gen Kayihura.
Jet Tumwebaze, a senior partner at KAA said the law firm had got instruction from their client to reach out to the Commander In Chief and inform him of ISO’s machinations.
Tumwebaze also decried Kayihura’s long detention period without trial that he said has only served to fuel more speculation in the public.
“There is no reason you should hold a man for 35 days without a charge or making an ink of statement but continue to supply the media with lies. We have asked the commander in chief to double check all ‘evidence”, he said.
