ABIRIGA: Electoral Commission sets date for by-election

The Electoral Commission (EC) has set August 15 as the date on which the Arua Municipality by-election formerly held by slain MP Ibrahim Abiriga, will be held.

According to Justice Simon Byabakama, the EC chairperson, about Shs500m has been earmarked for the by-election.

Byabakama told journalists that a stakeholders’s meeting will be held in Arua to harmonise any raisng issues and nominations will be held for a period of two days, from July 19-20, 2018.
