Speaker Kadaga thanked the Mufti of Uganda for extending the burial to Monday 11th, for Parliament to pay final respect to the deceased.
Abiriga served in the Uganda Army from 1971 to 1976; later joined the National Resistance Army where he rose to become 2nd Division Administration Officer. He held this position until his retirement from the Army at the rank of Colonel. Before Parliament, Abiriga was Resident District Commissioner, for Arua district for 12 years and Yumbe district for four years.
