After deposing KCCA FC as Uganda Premier League champions last month Vipers SC has an opportunity to rub salt in the wounds of the Kasasiro boys when the two sides lock horns in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final.

The game which is hosted by a different stadium for every edition will be played in eastern Uganda at Emokori Grounds in Bukedea.  To reach this stage, the Venoms ejected SC Villa 1-0 on aggregate while Mike Mutebi’s charges knocked out Synergy after a 10-0 pounding.

Vipers will be looking to emulate KCCA’s domestic double heroics from last season and if they manage to pull off the feat it will be the Kitende-based side’s first double in their history.

KCCA will be featuring in a fourth Uganda Cup final in five years on Saturday, but the competition has not been kind to them, with a solitary win, against Paidha Black Angels last year, in their previous three attempts.

The two rivals each won their home game against the other in the just concluded League campaign.
