Local giants Kampala City Council Authority Football Club has this weekend sidelined the heated up local title race and drawn focus on their maiden Caf Champions league group stage game against fellow debutants Township Rollers away in Gaborone Botswana. The 32-man delegation that departed on Wednesday morning for Botswana left on a high after returning to winning ways on Tuesday as they beat relegation threatened strugglers Express FC 2-1 at Wankulukuku.

The group A underdogs will be facing each for the first time in history and both have to battle for maximum points in the Friday game before each faces group giants Esperance of Tunisia and Al Ahly of Egypt.

The game will see KCCA FC play former teammate and Uganda Cranes midfielder Ivan Ntege who features for the Botswana team.

Creative midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba was not part of the squad that travelled but KCCA have a boost after the return of Derrick Nsibambi who has been sidelined for a while due to injury. This gives Mike Mutebi a variety of attacking options with Muhammad Shaban and teenager Allan Okello having much of his trust due to their current form.
