The newly appointed Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander Afande Moses Kafeero has today revealed his agenda in his new office of duty. While on an interview with NBS TV this morning, Kafeero has disclosed that besides making the city safe, he will start with cleaning the image and perception of his office.

According to Kafeero he wants police to bond with the citizens saying; “I’m looking at a police that will be so close to the people, where a police car parks and people come to discuss with the police officers on how they can work together.”

“We tend to think that community policing is about meetings but it has a lot to do with day to day interactions with people, the community can come in to audit the police, police also needs to coordinate with community leaders,” he added

Two weeks ago Kafeero was appointed into office in a notice signed by IGP Martin Ochola replacing Frank Mwesigwa who was transferred to head the police tourism department.
