Talk of Jamaican-American reggae artiste Tarrus Riley coming to Kampala has resurrected. According to highly reliable sources, another promoter managed to tie down the Jamaican star to perform in Kampala later in the year.
Tarrus was advertised to perform in Kampala last December, but the show was cancelled a few weeks to the date after the promoters asked for more time to organise the show. Back then, in December 2017, the promoters had promised they would hold the Tarrus Riley concert during the Easter weekend, at the end of this month. However, the latest on our desk is that the Tarrus’ management seems to have failed to reach an agreement with the initial promoters and recently entered into another agreement with new promoters.
We have been reliably informed that the new promoters paid Tarrus’ management in full and have also already booked the Lugogo Cricket Oval grounds for a date in August. Riley is the voice behind globally acclaimed reggae and dancehall jams like Gimme likkle one drop, She’s royal, Don’t come back, Sorry is a sorry word and his latest, Just the way you are. Our team is digging up details on the promoter and the exact new date for Tarrus’ visit.
