NRM has rejected the outcome of Jinja East By-elections which saw FDC’s Paul Mwiru garner 6654 votes while NRM’s Igeme Nabeta scored 5043 votes.
Addressing the media in Jinja today, Kasule Lumumba the secretary general of the NRM said Mwiru’s election was “riddled with various electoral malpractices like multiple voting, voter bribery and intimidation of voters.”
Lumumba said they had instructed the party’s legal team to assess the evidence and advise on appropriate action.
“An election is a process not an event,” she said.
