Five years later, a one Joseph Bukenya, a crime preventer attached to Nansana Police Division yesterday pinned former Buyende District Police Commander, Muhammad Kirumira in police court claiming that he forcefully ate his rolex when was was OC Nansana.
According to Joseph Bukenya, the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) refused to pay him despite his several attempts to demand for the money for the rolex he had eaten.
“I want to tell this court that Afande Kirumira is a bad person. He used to eat people’s things without paying. He also ate my rolex and he did not pay me. I was operating a chapatti stall at the time,” Mr Bukenya said.
Price of rolex on street stalls range from Shs1000-Shs1500 depending on the number of eggs used in preparation. “Single egg” rolex goes for Shs1000 while “double egg” rolex goes for Shs1500.
Mr Kirumira was appearing Police Court seven days after he was granted bail. As part of his bail conditions, Mr Kirumira reports to Police’s professional standards unit every day at 9am, he is not allowed to speak to the media and he was prohibited from making utterances that tarnish Police image.
