National Resistance Movement (NRM) has fired 419 staff members due to cash crisis. While speaking to the media, secretary general Kasule Lumumba stated that the party was restructuring.
“We have issues with payments, this is a restructuring process. We are laying off 132 administrative secretaries at the District level, assistant secretaries and 157 staff members at the headquarters,” she said.
However on a good note Lumumba stated that all the affected staff will be paid their respective arrears before termination date sets in.
“They will also continue working with us for the next two months as required by the law,” she said.
She also added that her office, the offices of; legal, finance director, treasurer and deputy treasurer , electoral commission and commissioner as well the deputy secretary general are not affected in the restructuring process.
